Andrews Space Celebrates Ten Years in Business and Announces Executive Change

Seattle, Washington - December 8, 2009 - Andrews Space, Inc. (Andrews) today announced that it is celebrating 10 years in business.

Andrews was founded in 1999 by Jason Andrews and Marian Joh to be a catalyst in the commercialization and development of space.  Over the last 10 years Andrews has grown from a small consulting company into an established, affordable integrator of aerospace systems and developer of advanced space technologies.  Andrews, a privately held company, currently has offices in Washington, California and Alabama.

As part of a planned transition, Marian Joh, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, will step down as Chief Executive Officer at the end of the year after successfully leading the company since co-founding it in 1999.  Jason Andrews, who currently serves as President, will succeed her as Chief Executive Officer.  Ms. Joh will retain her role as Chairman of the Board of Directors.  Mr. Andrews will have the title of President and Chief Executive Officer.

Since its founding Andrews has worked with NASA and commercial companies on a wide range of crew and cargo transportation systems.  Andrews was a prime contractor for NASA Marshal Spaceflight Center developing cargo logistics concepts and has worked with several of NASA's COTS contractors.  Andrews supplied the reaction wheels for Bigelow’s Genesis II spacecraft and is currently developing propulsion controller avionics for the Sundance module. 

Andrews has also worked with NASA and the Defense Department on a range of advanced reusable space transportation systems and hypersonic platforms.  Andrews continues to develop propulsion and thermal protection technologies that can enable these next generation systems.
